The University of Guelph Arboretum, established in 1970, is a 165 hectare green space situated geographically in the heart of the city. It serves as a teaching and research facility to the campus while remaining open year round to the public for experiential learning in our woody plant collections and theme gardens. Nature trails through woodlots offer a contrast to our collections. Gardens showing the influence of the English, Japanese and Italian cultures on our gardens are near the OAC Centennial Centre while five gardens demonstrating habitat for wildlife in backyards are near the Taylor Centre.
