Maplelawn Garden is one of the Capital Region’s most unique gardens because it is a rare example of a well-preserved 19th century walled garden. In 1993, a group of volunteers came together as the Friends of Maplelawn Garden with the objective of preserving and rehabilitating the walled garden. They discovered a large variety of perennials still thriving within its walls, such as the old peonies for which the garden was once famous.

Summer’s here and Canada’s public gardens are at their best. You know you want to visit them yourself – who wouldn’t want to stroll through a beautiful park filled with flowers – but maybe you feel you’re so tied up with your children or grandchildren you just can’t get away. Well, there’s an easy solution to that: bring them along!
