Reader Rock Garden is an Edwardian era Arts and Crafts style rockery. Located steps from historic Union Cemetery and the Calgary Stampede grounds at 325 – 25th Avenue S.E., this three-acre garden consists of a matrix of rock paths, steps and walls that form numerous planting beds and a variety of microclimates and garden areas. The Garden dates from 1913 and was historically used as a private residence for influential Parks Superintendant, William Roland Reader. The reconstructed house features a café, catering and classroom space. Take in the city skyline or enjoy a leisurely walk at this unique botanical treasure.
